第4回講演ゲスト「福井 景一」
福文製茶場5代目園主。1901(明治34)年福井文吉氏が製茶業をはじめる。同じく、製茶業を営んでいた文吉氏の兄堀井長次郎氏が、煉瓦造りの碾茶乾燥機を発明。複文製茶場でも99年間前(1925年)に同型の煉瓦炉をつくり、煉瓦を熱したときの輻射熱(ふくしゃねつ)による芳香を特徴とする宇治抹茶を完成。
景一氏は、抹茶の原料となる宇治碾茶の栽培にはじまり、煉瓦造りの碾茶乾燥機を用いた伝統的な製法による宇治抹茶づくりを手がける。日本茶インストラクター、全国茶審査技術7段位、宇治市茶生産組合監事。2009年、茶審査技術競技大会京都大会・個人の部チャンピオンに。

Lecture #4: “Enjoying the Deliciousness of Uji Tea
Guest speaker: Mr. Keiichi Fukui (5th generation owner of Fukubun Tea Plantation)
*In conjunction with the keynote lecture, participants will have the opportunity to actually drink a variety of teas and experience the delicious taste of tea.

Guest speaker for the 4th lecture : Mr.Kageichi Fukui

The 5th generation owner of Fukubun Tea Farm, Mr. Bunkichi Fukui started his tea business in 1901. In 1901, Mr. Bunkichi Fukui started his tea business, and his brother, Chojiro Horii, who was also in the tea business, invented a brick-made powdered tea dryer. The same type of brick kiln was built at Kubun Tea Factory 99 years ago (1925), and Uji Matcha, characterized by the aroma produced by the radiant heat from the heating of the bricks, was perfected.

Mr. Keiichi has been involved in the production of Uji matcha using traditional methods, beginning with the cultivation of Uji tencha, the raw material for matcha, and using a brick kiln to dry the powdered green tea. He is a Japanese tea instructor, holds the 7th dan level of the National Tea Judging Technique, and is the supervisor of the Uji City Tea Producers Association.
